Discretion
What we don't ask, and what we don't say
A removal is somebody coming into your home, looking at your things and carrying them out past your neighbours. For a lot of people on this site that is a harder day than the trade tends to acknowledge, so here is what we do not do.
-
Why you are moving
It is not our business and it does not change the job. We need to know which route you are on because it tells us who sets the date — not why you are on it.
-
What happened at the old address
Plenty of moves on this site are people leaving something difficult. We do not ask, we do not speculate in front of you, and we do not discuss it with anybody afterwards.
-
Anything in front of your neighbours
We do not say who we are or why we are there to anybody in the building. On an estate or in a block, that discretion is worth more than most of what a removals firm can offer.
-
For a decision you are not ready to make
If you are not sure yet whether the move is going ahead, book provisionally anyway. We will not chase you, and we will not treat a cancellation as a problem.
Why this needs saying at all
Most removals marketing is about care for your belongings. That matters, but it is not usually the thing people on these routes are most anxious about.
A move out of social housing, or into it, is frequently visible. It happens on an estate or in a block where people know each other. It sometimes follows something difficult — a relationship ending, a health problem, a period in temporary accommodation — and the last thing anybody wants is a conversation about it on a shared landing with a van outside.
None of that is unusual and none of it is anybody’s business. So we do not put it on the side of a vehicle, we do not explain ourselves to neighbours, and we do not ask you questions that are not about the job.
What we do need to know
Which route you are on, because it tells us who sets the date and how much warning you are likely to get. What is moving, and roughly how much. The floor at each end and where a van can stand. Whether anything needs to go in a particular place for medical or mobility reasons.
That is the whole list. Nothing on it requires you to explain anything about your circumstances.
And if you would rather not be there
That is arrangeable. We can work to a named person with your written authority — a relative, a friend, a support worker or a housing officer — as long as we have that in writing beforehand and they can be reached on the day.
What we will not do is take keys from somebody who has simply turned up, or hand a property over to whoever happens to be in the hallway.

Book before you have a date
It costs nothing, we will move it as many times as it needs moving, and if the offer falls through we will cancel it without any fuss. It is the only part of this you control.
