Which move is this
A transfer
Who sets the date Your landlord
You have been offered a different property by the landlord you already have. Usually because the one you are in has become wrong — too small, too big, up too many stairs, or being worked on.
What’s different about it
The date is not yours. It is set by the landlord, it sometimes moves, and it is frequently shorter notice than anybody would choose. That is the defining feature of this route and everything else follows from it.
There is no chain to fall through, which is genuinely good news. Nothing is dependent on a buyer, a survey or a solicitor — the offer either happens or it does not, and when it happens it happens quickly.
The old property has to be left in a particular condition and handed back. There is usually a void inspection, and what counts as acceptable is set out by the landlord rather than negotiated.
A great many transfers are moves into more suitable housing on medical or mobility grounds, which means the new property may need things positioned in a specific way rather than simply put in the right room.
What we do
Hold a provisional date at no cost while the offer is being confirmed, and move it as many times as it needs moving
Work at short notice, because on this route short notice is normal rather than an emergency
Place things where you actually need them — height, reach and access matter more than tidiness on a mobility move
Take away what is not coming and provide the disposal paperwork, so the property goes back clear
The worry
That you will not be ready if the date lands sooner than expected. Book provisionally as soon as you have an offer; it costs nothing and it removes the whole problem.

Book before you have a date
It costs nothing, we will move it as many times as it needs moving, and if the offer falls through we will cancel it without any fuss. It is the only part of this you control.
