Mitcham Removals

Which move is this

A new tenancy

Who sets the date The letting officer

A property has been allocated and you are signing for it. Often after a long wait, often out of temporary accommodation, and almost always with less warning than the wait would suggest.

What’s different about it

  • It goes from nothing to imminent very quickly. People wait a long time and are then asked to sign up and take possession on a timescale that leaves very little room to organise anything.

  • The property is empty and frequently bare. No white goods, no flooring in some cases, no curtains. The move is often only part of what has to happen that week, and the rest of it costs money and energy too.

  • A lot of people on this route are coming out of temporary accommodation, a refuge, a houseshare or a family member’s spare room. That means belongings in several places at once, or almost none at all.

  • Deliveries and the removal collide. A new bed, a fridge and a washing machine all arriving around the same time as the van is normal, and it wants sequencing so nothing is left on a landing.

What we do

  • Collect from more than one address where your things are in more than one place, as a single job

  • Hold a date provisionally while the sign-up is arranged, and move it without fuss when it changes

  • Work around white-goods deliveries so nothing important is left standing in a communal area

  • Quote the job honestly when it is small — coming out of one room is not a house move and should not be priced as one

The worry

That it will all land at once. It usually does. Tell us what else is being delivered and we will work round it rather than adding to the pile.

Book before you have a date

It costs nothing, we will move it as many times as it needs moving, and if the offer falls through we will cancel it without any fuss. It is the only part of this you control.
